Breathe Youth is a Christian organisation which has been working with children and young people in the Forest of Dean since 2013. In 2018 we became a registered charity.
We believe that each young person is of great worth, brings unique gifts and has great potential.
Our Vision:
Is that every young person we engage with will know that they are loved and valued and supported to achieve the best they can.
We aim to:
- Provide support, advice and information to children and young people who are facing challenges in their lives
- Provide a range of activities for children and young people through our clubs and events, which support them socially, spiritually and emotionally
- Support young people to engage in their education and the process of finding employment
- Encourage Christian beliefs and values amongst children and young people, their families and the community
- Demonstrate God’s love to children and young people of any background – whether they have a faith or not.
We partner with churches and other organisations to support and encourage young people in all aspects of their development.
Most members of our team are volunteers who freely give their time, energy and skills to work with young people.
Founded by a group of local Christians, the organisation began by running a youth club in 2013. In 2014 our mentoring programme was established and in 2015 the organisation took over the running of an existing club for children aged 7-11 years.
Breathe Youth follows local and national guidance to ensure the welfare of all young people we work with.
