WE ARE OPEN TO REFERRALS
Since 2014, Breathe has been providing mentoring support to young people facing challenges who live in the Forest of Dean. Our service is for those aged 11-18 years (school years 6-13).
What is Mentoring?
Our mentoring programme provides young people in the Forest of Dean with a trusted adult who will support them through the challenges they are experiencing. It helps them make positive choices and work towards their goals whilst providing space to talk through and explore issues that concern them.
Our Mentors
Are amazing people with big hearts who bring a wealth of life experience to working with young people. We value their willingness to give their time as volunteers to this work. They have all undertaken a mentor training programme and had a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. They also receive ongoing support throughout the time they are mentoring a young person.
Our Approach
We believe that mentoring is a powerful way to see change happen. Our service is non-judgmental and takes a friendly approach to the young people we are supporting. Rather than telling a young person what to do, we support them to explore issues they are grappling with and work with them to find their own solutions.
